ATHLETICS | The Lion spirit was on the water as the rowing team’s annual Holiday Boat Parade was another success on Saturday night in Marina del Rey. More than 100 people, and an appearance of Iggy the Lion attended the function at the Bove Boathouse to enjoy the festivities.
The men’s and women’s basketball teams took advantage of their single games scheduled over the last week of classes. The men’s basketball team moved to 9-1 with a road win at Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday night, while the women’s basketball team took down Cal State Northridge with an away win on Friday night to extend their record to 6-2 on the year.
Each team has one game on the docket this week as well: the women’s team hosts Long Beach State in their return to the bluff on Friday. The Dad and Daughter Day game will tip at 7 p.m. and include a special ornament giveaway to the first 100 fans.
The men’s team will play up in the Rose City against Portland State on Saturday night for their final out-of-state trip of the nonconference schedule.
