UNIVERSITY NEWS: Attention first-year students: Join the Center for Service and Action and fellow first-year students for a day of service (and good food) at Alma Backyard Farms. First-year students and student leaders take part in Serve LA, a day of service at Alma Backyard Farms on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Alma Backyard Farms, an innovative nonprofit started by two LMU alums that reimagine the urban landscape of L.A. by creating incredible urban farms. Help to reclaim the lives of formerly incarcerated people through repurposing urban land into bountiful farmland and a reimagined Los Angeles. Roll up your sleeves to do some great work, learn about an inspiring nonprofit, and then enjoy freshly prepared tacos to wrap up the day before returning to LMU.

There will be free food, t-shirts, transportation and the feeling of knowing that you helped someone out. Participants will meet at St. Robert’s Grass at 8 a.m. in front of the Center for Service and Action. Space is limited, RSVP ASAP to reserve your spot today! RSVP here.
