Thank you for your interest in participating in this study supported by the Office for International Students and Scholars (OISS) at LMU in partnership with the International Educators Research Group. This is a short study developed by an independent researcher to explore the experiences of first-generation, foreign-born migrants living in the United States.

For the purposes of this study, the first-generation migrant is defined as anyone born in another country who moved to the U.S. at 12 years of age or older, regardless of current immigration status.  International students and scholars as well as other students, faculty, and staff who came to the U.S. after age 12 are all considered to be first-generation migrants per this definition and welcomed to complete this survey.

The purpose of this study is to examine the experiences of foreign-born migrants since the present administration assumed leadership of the U.S. The current political administration has pursued a number of regulatory and sub-regulatory changes that have shaped the landscape for international students and scholars as well as other migrants. The goal of this brief study is to examine if migrants currently feel welcome living in the U.S. and to explore whether their experiences differ depending on the country or culture they come from.

Please click on the link below to take the survey-it should take no more than five minutes to complete and is completely confidential. If the link does not work, copy and paste the address into the address bar of your internet browser.

Please read the Human Subjects Bill of Rights on the survey website for more information.

If you have any other questions regarding the survey and/or your participation or concerns, please contact Csilla Samay, Assistant Dean, International Students and Initiatives at csamay@lmu.edu. Thank you for participating in this important survey.
