98% Original Creative Gathering. Saturday, February 6. 2-4 pm PST

Hosted by LMU student Alan Corvaia. An opportunity for students to share anything they’ve created (all mediums welcome) and receive peer feedback. All creative mediums are welcome: photography, theatrical pieces, dance sequences, slam poetry, un-slammed poetry, rap, painting, math, visual art, etc. Event will also include group activities that encourage collective creativity.

A Play Reading of Affinity Lunch Minutes, by Nick Malakhow

Students who are interested in acting in this piece will be asked to send in a pre-recorded audition tape (we will provide selections from the show to read). Actors will attend 2-4 rehearsals (scheduled around actor availability).

Synopsis: Ben and Jasmine are the only two Black teachers at Penn Valley, a private Quaker school. Jasmine is passionate and boundary pushing, while Ben has worked his way up the ranks at the school to be Diversity Dean thanks to his “agreeable” nature. A racially charged discipline decision ignites a divide at the school and in Jasmine and Ben’s collegial relationship.

Short plays by various playwrights

Directed by students Amelia Comer, Giselle Durand, Jasmine Gao

Auditions for these short plays will take place on Tuesday, February 16 (follow our socials for updates). Actors will be given a script to read from for auditions. Rehearsals will be scheduled around actors’ availability.

Spring Cabaret (Theme TBD). Friday, April 9. 7 pm PST

Students will be invited to submit pre-recorded videos of songs, dances, poems, etc surrounding a certain theme (TBD).

Alumni Panel. Friday, April 23. Time TBD

Alumni from DRP and the LMU Theatre Department will engage in conversation about their experiences post-graduation.
