Fallapalooza Updates

LMU Undergraduate and Graduate Students,

As you may know, ASLMU has been working on plans to host Fallapalooza on Sunday, Oct. 3, at 4 p.m. in Sunken Garden. After a careful consideration and discussion about the pros and cons of proceeding with the event, ASLMU has decided to proceed with some modifications due to COVID-19. We are excited to host this annual tradition for the community for the first time in two years.

ASLMU consulted with university administrators and external professionals about the logistics and policies for the event, and we are confident that we have taken every measure to make sure Fallapalooza is a safe, fun event for our community. Please check the ASLMU media platforms throughout the week for more detailed and updated information on the policies at Fallapalooza.

Here are some changes to policies surrounding Fallapalooza:

  • Masks are required
  • OneCard and Corq Event Pass required for entry/precheck (No exceptions)
  • Guests are not permitted
  • There will be no reentry allowed (this will be enforced)
  • Water bottles will not be permitted inside the venue
  • Outside food and drink will not be permitted inside the venue
    • Food trucks will be on site and free water will be provided
  • Only small bags will be permitted inside the venue. All bags will be checked upon entry.
    • Bags equal to or smaller than 12” x 6” x 12”
      • Fanny packs
      • Lizzo’s tiny purse

As I have stressed in my past communications, we have a collective responsibility to curb the spread of the COVID-19. These event policies can only do so much in keeping our community healthy. We highly recommend getting tested for COVID-19 in the days before and after the concert to ensure you are not endangering other Lions. The CDC recommends vaccinated people wait 3-5 days after potential exposure to get tested after attending a large event to ensure accurate test results. Additionally, they recommend you wear your mask until you receive a negative test following a large gathering.

The testing center has graciously offered to increase staffing to accommodate a larger than normal influx of community members wanting to receive COVID-19 tests. Please utilize this free and crucial service and don’t forget to thank the staff for helping to keep our community safe. If at any point you begin to experience symptoms of COVID-19, contact the COVID Support Team at COVIDsupportteam@lmu.edu or 310.568.6868.

In this together,

Brion Dennis
ASLMU President
