STUDENT HOUSING | LMU has announced the names of the two new residence halls being constructed near Doheny Hall: Palm North and Palm South.
Selected in collaboration with LMU Housing, the names reflect the new buildings’ location at the beginning of Palm Walk, the campus’ main pedestrian thoroughfare, as well as a breezy nod to LMU’s beachy locale.
Palm North will provide housing to first-year students, while Palm South will serve as junior and senior residences. Each residence hall will also offer new Living Learning Communities for students who share a common interest or academic pursuit. Together, Palm North and Palm South will provide on-campus housing for more than 600 undergraduate students.
Construction continues through the spring semester, while summer will see interior decoration ahead of the buildings’ opening for the fall 2020 semester.
